I'm Guitarded.

Dylan the dog recently got sterilized. It's a measure we have to take. My last dog met with many complications when she got pregnant and had puppies, as a result of which she had 2 miscarriages. It was a really heartbreaking experience for me when Amber, my previous dog died. We don't want to take any chances will Dylan. But I agree it's a really sad thing. She came back really dazed and subdued. I could tell she was excited to see me, she was wagging her tail like crazy but she just couldn't jump up like she usually does.

The funniest thing now is that Dylan has to wear a cone on her head to prevent her from interferring with her stiches.

I present to you Dylan the Dog in the latest cone fashions!

Now everyday can be Coney Dog day.

So yes as planned I met up with Benster, had shiok shiok chicken rice at his place and went over to his house to check out some of his new gear. Chicken rice was excellent. I can't believe how cheap it is. $4.80 I get a whole roasted thigh, rice, soup, and vegetables. At the place downstairs, $4.80 will probably just get you chicken and rice. Damn good stuff. I'm gonna go back there soon, furthermore it's so near Val's house! WOOT!

Benster's house is guitar wonderland. I got to play expensive guitars which only rich men can afford. In guitar internet land they are termed as the Guitar for Lawyer/Accountant/Invesment Banker/Doctor/And any other ridiculously high paying occupations.

Paul Reed Smith guitars!

This is what a $6000 guitar looks like.

Quite nice yes?

For me what's even nicer is a mini pedalfest. Benster has all these old school made in Japan Boss pedals. They make them in Taiwan now, along with almost 90% of your computer. As a result of which the new ones sound literally like crap.

Pedal Orgy.

Benster's a pretty mean guitarist, laying down nice blues lines and some funky strumming.
I'm just not too sure about his game face.

My highlight of the day was meeting up with Brandon to go to pedal wonderland. Aka. Mr. Misses's place at Clementi. Looks are certainly deceiving. Little did I know that on the 4th floor of a certain HDB block was a stash of shit loads of killer gear. It's an amazing feeling to play through a great amplifier. I got the opportunity to do so today twice! Brandon is a true killer player with a good ear for tone. I think without him my tone would be in the shitter. And my level of creativity would be stagnant. Meeting inspirational players is not easy especially in the context of singapore, everyone is just so selfish to share information. I've gain so many nice insights from him over the course of playing guitar together...I just have to work hard to apply them.

We spent about 2 hours there, just playing GREAT GEAR, talking shop and talking nonsense as well. I didn't even spend a single cent at Misse's place. I felt terrible about it, but he's an awesome guy. He actually called us over to just try out gear! How cool is that?

And that's the reason why I buy gear from him. No one can provide me with the level of service and information that he does. SUPER CONFIRM!

You're more boring than you think.

I was looking around the usual websites which I frequent and I stumbled across this. A moustache tattoo! I intially thought it was a whole tattoo done on the upper lip of an individual. But then again that would be way too painful for most people to endure. Well I'm going to let the video link speak for itself.

I tried posting the video here on my blog, but there's some sort of encryption which prevents the html source from being viewed. Anyways just click on the link and you'll be brought to the familiar surroundings of youtube.

Do check it out.

Would you get one?

I'm pretty tempted!

It's such an irony. I just posted pictures from yesterday afternoon's housekeeping activities. I also noted somewhere that ice cream is hazardous to sneaker love. And lo and behold, I was right. In a wrong way of course. My coworker accidentally spilt chocolate fudge on my suedes. It's alright, I'm fine, serves me right for wearing them to work.

Next time slippers.

Today will be yet another pedalfest type of day. I'm meeting Benster to pass him my Steve Vai Bad Horsie wah wah pedal. Wtf is a Wah wah pedal. Well step on it and your guitar signal turns into an animalistic quack. It literally goes "WAH WAH", what fun! But the pairing of a Vai Wah and Benster is potentially sacreligious. It's like giving BB King a distortion pedal. Well what's in it for me? I get to sell him my PRS Book for Fiddy bucks and also free chicken rice at his shop! After that I'll be heading to misse's place for fulltone pedal orgy.

Pics soon!

The Great Sneaker Clean Up!

Wednesday, May 03, 2006
Yeah I had my last paper today. Fucked up system if you ask me. We had a whole spate of exams last week, with the last on thursday, wait one whole week later then it's the last one. A total loss of momentum on my part. I couldn't be bothered to study, most of the time was spent with Valerie since she was going to head off to perth. I took the paper today, it's over already, we'll just see what happens.

Anyways last paper means holidays have started, wait no, correction TERM BREAK. Bloody 2 weeks. I believe I start again on May 22nd. Well I'll spend the time improving on guitar and of course fitness. I still got the son of the ghost or the ghost of the son of IPPT to confront. KNN.

In other good news I managed to get the pedal I wanted 2nd hand from this guy. Pretty good deal considering the fact that the wait time for one...or should I say lead time for one is a couple of months now.

I was suppose to bring Josh to mod his Xbox today. But something cropped up and in the end the whole thing was cancelled. My plans for the afternoon were dashed, in vain I messaged all my guitar kakis but no one was free. Instead I took the time today to clear up some stuff in my room. It's bad enough that I own quite a number of sneakers, bad enough that I have to find space to store, time to wear them, clothes to match them.

WORST THING IS CLEANING THEM.

I went on a sneaker cleaning frenzy today. Got out all of my sneakers, took a cloth, toothbrush, bucket with detergent, and a load of elbow grease. Clean every single inch on every single one of them. I'm really particular about my sneakers, actually obsessive. Just a notch down from the way I feel about my guitar gear. I even took out all the laces and washed them. They're currently in the soak stage as I type this entry. I scrubed away the stain of Sambal Belacan Chilli which Ris knocked over on my Nike SB Hufs, I cleaned away the soya sauce stains which some prick spilled on my Hunter SBs, and I cleaned away the mop marks which David made at Island Creamery. Scooping ice cream is hazardous for sneaker love.

Pretty maids all in a row.

About 6 nikes worth of lace!

New pedal, new sneakers, old bank account without progress package.

And by the way the new Pearl Jam album is good shit. Nice riffy songs, and very solid drumming, very deep grooves like those found on the earlier albums! I love it, no shredding or widdly guitars here but the music is seriously good shit.
Don't think I'm partial to Pearl Jam or any other alt-rock cuz I shredz.

Actually I don't, it's just fast forward fingers.

Off to work I go.
